Living the Dream
Blank Slate Brewing Company was founded in March 2011 by Proprietor, Janitor, and Yeast Farmer Scott LaFollette. Scott is a BJCP certified Beer Judge, a Certified Cicerone, and a 2008 graduate of the Siebel Institute's Concise Course in Brewing Technology. He is also an accomplished homebrewer of many years.
After working for over 10 years as a Plastics Engineer and Polymer Chemist, Scott finally decided that it was time to take the several years he invested in THINKING about opening a brewery and put that energy into actually OPENING one. Thus Blank Slate Brewing Company was born.
Initially operating as a draft only operation with distribution to local bars and restaurants, Blank Slate will, unlike many breweries, produce primarily seasonal brands. This means that many of the brands will be rotated several times throughout the year. This philosophy to forego the "flagship model" of beer branding and embrace the seasonal approach to beer brewing (and drinking) is a big part of the Blank Slate mantra. Bottling operations are expected to begin in 2015 and will initially be on a small scale.
The PourHouse taproom opened in November of 2014 and is currently open four days a week. We offer pints and samplers, glassware and growler fills.
